Our History

Copacabana is located on the southern end of the NSW Central Coast. It is approximately 20 mins drive from Gosford and lies between Macmasters and Avoca Beaches.

The Copacabana Surf Life Saving Club started lifesaving in 1963-64 season with 14 active members. Our first office bearers were Peter White (President), John Jones (Club Captain), Malcolm Pearce (Vice Captain) and Ronald Cowburn (Secretary and Treasurer).

Copacabana now boasts over 400 members of which approximately 90 are active Surf Lifesavers. In recent years Copacabana has been recognised for its high acheivement in patrol competition across the Central Coast.

In May 2008 our new clubhouse was opened.
